OSi Research Initiative

Ordnance Survey Ireland seeks applications from suitably qualified persons who wish to avail of the recently-launched OSi Research Initiative.

Masters Degree Award

OSi is now seeking submissions by Masters-level students, where their Masters Degree Thesis (or similar substantial work) will be assessed by a team representing OSi, academia, and the private sector. Shortlisting may apply, and candidates may be required to deliver a presentation; no expenses will be reimbursed for this process.

Those submissions which are considered to be of the highest standard will be awarded a sum not exceeding €5,000, to an annual maximum of 5 awards. OSi expects a high standard – it must be noted that in the event that no thesis is considered to be of the required standard, then no award will be made.

Following several representations from potential applicants for the Masters Degree Awards, OSi is prepared to accept applications from candidates who expect to complete their Masters studies in Autumn 2016. A detailed summary of their work to date (in the online application form) should be submitted on or before 29 July 2016, with a commitment to submit their completed thesis or dissertation, on completion,  before 16 Sept 2016.

Please download Terms and Conditions here. Closing date for submissions has been extended to 16th September 2016. Successful candidates will be notified in writing shortly after.

Please submit your work in digital form to: bursary@osi.ie
