Irish Sports Council
The Irish Sports Council is the statutory national body with responsibility to plan, lead and co-ordinate the sustainable development of competitive and recreational sport in Ireland. The vision of the Irish Sports Council is one where sport contributes to enhancing the quality of Irish life.
Under their government remit, the Irish Sports Council is responsible for all national way marked trails. These are used extensively by walking enthusiasts and tourists. The Irish Trails Strategy, launched in January 2007, recommended the establishment of a National Trails Advisory Committee (NTAC). OSi mapping, including our Discovery Series data is used for trail provision including trail standards, trail classification systems, trail signage policy, trail development guidelines, trail quality assurance and appropriate marketing and promotion.
OSi Data Bases employed:
- Large Scale Mapping.
- Small and Medium Scales Mapping.
- High and low level imagery and orthophotography.
- Height models and Lidar models.
- National Boundaries and small areas database.
