Irish Mountain Running Association win gold with the help of OSi

OSi Sponsorship of IMRA 2008

Ordnance Survey Ireland’s sponsorship of the Irish Mountain Running Association in 2008 has not just given financial assistance to clubs around the country, but more importantly has given us unlimited exposure to a sporting organisation which does has a genuine interest and continuous need for our mapping products.

Our sponsorship has greatly helped IMRA to international success abroad. Mags Greenan and Aisling Coppinger from Clonliffe Harriers won individual Gold medals at the European Mountain Running Championships in Switzerland and Mags Greenan also won gold at the World Championships in the Czech Republic.

Young, up and coming school boys and girls teams were sent to Scotland to compete at the British & Irish Championships. Our sponsorship has also helped to attract some top athletes to Mountain Running from track and field clubs where there is now a growing incentive to make it on to the international teams. It’s not all about international status though, there are huge numbers of local and national events taking place almost all year round with the OSi flag flying prominently.
