Discovery Data

The Discovery Raster, Vector, and Height data is in principle, the digital version of the Discovery mapping series, originally designed for tourist and leisure acitivities. It is derived from a 1:10,000 digital database and aerial photography of photo scale 1:40,000 with field verification. Some data is derived from appropriate external organisations.

There are 240 tiles in the series (Republic of Ireland). Additional tiles produced by Ordnance Survey Northern Ireland are available for Northern Ireland. Each tile covers a ground area of 20km x 20km, and all are available in Irish Grid (IG) or ITM Irish Transverse Mercator (ITM).
